Being a Camp Monroe staff member is a uniquely rewarding experience. Over the summer, you’ll play a key role in the growth and development of our campers, many of whom will become like little brothers and sisters. Nothing is more fulfilling, and in the meantime, you’ll be having tons of fun and forming lifelong relationships!
We pride ourselves on the quality of our staff members, from bunk counselors to activity instructors to support staff to administrators. After all, camp is only as good as those who successfully put our program into action.
Many of our staff members have themselves grown up at Monroe and enjoy giving their campers the same amazing experience they received. But many others are first-timers who bring invaluable new skills to our camp family. Our staff hails from Europe, Australia, and beyond, which makes Camp Monroe an special international community.
Working at camp is a 24-hour-a-day job, and working with children can be demanding. The expectations placed on you are high, but working at Camp Monroe can also be one of the most enriching experiences of your life
Our staff members arrive six days before the campers for a week of training and team-building, which ensures that they’re be ready to go when the campers arrive. Additionally, orientation is a time for the staff to familiarize themselves in their new surroundings and form friendships with their colleagues.
